are there any good jobs in GIS that will help me repay my student loans?
I am obtaining a geography degree with a GIS certificate. I gotta say i was skeptical at first but after my first GIS class I fell in love with this type. I was wondering if there were any jobs in GIS that help repay your student loans? I’m in Oklahoma and most of our internships are done through oil companies. and none of them that i know of help you to repay your student loans so is there any government or international work? I’m a single man no kids no mortgage willing to travel ?

My Profession is GIS… I graduated from college 8 years ago and jumped right in. Look in utility companies, planning companies and government. Find your route now… If you like outdoors learn alot about trimble gps… Computer programing pays the best so learn arcobjects, a lot of jobs in web mapping creation so I would recomend taking a web development class, I went with the data management route learning sql server. The good thing about this field is there is not much competition so apply for a variety of positions. indeed.com is a good place to start… good luck entry level 34,000 3-4 years experience 45,000 5+Years = 55,000 to 80,000.
